This is the first sidesaddle that I have attempted to make. Many thanks to Didi Hornberger, my sidesaddle mentor. Her generosity and time to allow me to view her life-size Western sidesaddle was absolutely the key to success. The saddle's entire construction is from all of my own patterns, the tree is sculpted by me, and the carving is my own design. The owner wanted to be able to use this set in parade classes as well as regular western classes, so I came up with the fancy breascollar and hip drops to go with it. The glitz is meant to replicate tri-color gold. I had Melody Snow create a matching corona pad to go with the saddle, but I had that direct shipped to the customer and I have yet to see it. I am extremely happy with this saddle!
